Do the Texas Rangers have a better understanding and practice of Romans 14 than Christians have often demonstrated?

I realize this text has been abused by some wanting to hold churches hostage, motivated by maintaining the status quo in the face of certain change. Yet, when it comes to loving and respecting our bothers and sisters, I don’t think the importance of this admonition from Paul can be overstated.
Fully aware of his struggles to overcome drug and alcohol addiction, the Rangers showed great concern for Josh Hamilton in showering him with ginger ale instead of champagne so he could celebrate with his teammates the victory they achieved together.
As the bride of Christ, we are united in victory through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Shouldn’t we do whatever we can to prevent our brothers and sisters from stumbling and missing out as we celebrate together what God has done?
Thanks, Rangers, for giving us a glimpse of God’s truth in an improbable setting.
